Even as Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na receives rave reviews at the theatres with housefull booking at almost every multiplex, it could only touch the boundary of the reservoir of the youth's energy storehouse. Though it was expected to explore the vast aspects of the teen potential.
The film was knitted over a beautiful campus background and thus there was an immense scope of addition of various elements of the college life. An intelligent spectator can sense the absence of many facets which could direct the movie towards a more meaningful goal.
Campus is not only an 'adda' for masti and love. In fact, love is no longer 'a divine target' to be achieved for today's youth which is more career oriented. Their priority list doesn't count love in the first place. In a nut shell, many other aspects that have replaced the love-life of youth have not been taken into account in the movie.
On the other hand, the movie was thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated by the viewers. Aged people went nostalgic after watching the movie, recalling their first love affairs, break-ups and all.
Talking about the performance of the actors, they are quite fresh and vibrant in their acts. Genelia adores the audience with her peculiar style and Imraan has been placed in the block of chocolaty newcomers, both proving to be refined actors.
Indian cinema has become more commercialised. It believes in “serving” and not “educating” through the cinema. People also head towards the multiplexes and theatres to entertain themselves.
The public deny to be caught up by any serious and mind-hitting issues. They just want a chilling and refreshing three-hour experience to cast off their everyday tensions. The percentage of quality audience has reduced in the course of time and has cast a great impact on the featuring of the movies.
