Chandigarh, Dec.22 (ANI): To enhance Chandigarh's serenity and beauty, the Chandigarh industrial and tourism development corporation (CITCO) has converted its food court with 'green' as its theme.

Once a concrete surface, the 'Drop-In' food court in Sector 34 of Chandigarh has taken a new look. A lush, green and thick lawn has been developed to provide food fanatics a relaxing and environment-friendly ambience.

The 'green' concept of 'Drop-In' food court has been realized after the success of the concept of Shop N Shop.

Deepak Sharma, in-charge of the Drop In restaurant, said: "You go to places like Delhi, Mumbai and anywhere, but you won't find something like this, specially in a commercial hub which all surrounded by concrete buildings. There is a green belt, which has come up. People very much like it. We hope to do the best for them and give them a good service and food."

CITCO, which plays a pivotal role in the hospitality industry in Chandigarh, also brings about changes in its food outlets and restaurants.

CITCO has been associated with four food chains - Cafe Coffee Day, Yo!China, Sundarams and Kreative Foods for providing coffee varieties, South Indian, Continental and various kinds of foods at affordable rates.

It is also keeping its entity in Drop-In with other private players by serving Indian food cuisines at reasonable rates. For food lovers, 'Drop-In' not only provides an array of delicious cuisines, but a place to relax and rejuvenate.

Neha, one food enthusiast, said: "Menu is also good. They have Yo!China, Sundarams and Kreative Foods outlets. We are really enjoying the food here."

Jaspreet, another food enthusiast, said: " The food is delicious, service is quick and the environment is amazing. We prefer to visit here because it has a green space. Whenever we are free, we prefer to visit this restaurant."

Drop-In offers something for everyone. From gourmet coffee and fresh baked delights, to a prepared South Indian menu from exotic Chinese Cuisine to creative culinary.

But its stand apart feature remains its lush lawn that could look quite appealing to international tourists and travellers.

As Chandigarh is projected as a tourist city, places like Drop-In food court has added another feather to its cap.
