Five killed in Jharkhand van-truck crash

Ranchi, Dec 12 (IANS) Five people were killed and two others were injured Friday in a van-truck crash in Jharkhand's Dhanbad district. Those killed were returning from a marriage in the van when it collided with a truck, the police said.

 

According to the police, seven people were returning to Dhanbad after attending a marriage in Asansol district of West Bengal.

 

 

The driver of the Maruti van lost control and hit a truck parked by the road side near Tetulia village in Dhanbad district, about 240 km from here.

 

 

Five people died on the spot and two others were injured.

 

 

According to the police, the dead include a relative of a former Bihar minister. The injured people were admitted to a local hospital while the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
