Lucknow, Oct 26 (IANS) Four policemen have been accused of involvement in the death of a youth while in custody in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district, police said Sunday.

'We have learnt that the youth, Kaluva, died in police custody Saturday in Mathura, about 250 km from here, after being manhandled by four policemen,' Mathura senior superintendent of police A.S. Ganesh told IANS by phone.

The policemen have been suspended with immediate effect and a magisterial inquiry will also be initiated against them, he added.

Kaluva was picked up by police late Friday night after he clashed with some locals of Daulatpur village in the district over a land dispute.
