Concert for Peace held in Dimapur

Dimapur, Jan 8 (ANI): "End Human Rights Violations Against Children and Youth," the main theme of a peace concert was organized at the Holy Cross School under the aegis of Peace Channel recently.

 

The presence of a large crowd from all walks of life at the venue testified to the strong desire for long lasting peace in the state.

 

Two rock bands and several solo artists participated in the concert that marked the World Human Rights Day.

 

They played several contemporary and western numbers that got the crowd going.

 

It was not the first time that a concert for promoting peace had been organized in the state.

 

Civil society outfits have been trying to bring together like-minded youth of the state to fight against human rights violations.

 

"Through this concert the youth are empowered to tell their family, friends and relatives that what is right and what is wrong. It is creating awareness in the family itself that will be passed to the society," said C P Anto Paul, Director, Peace Channel. (ANI)
