India secures final Berth; beat Maldives 3-1

New Delhi: The strong contestant India today won the first semi final by defeating last year's runner-up team Maldives by 3-1. Star striker of India Sunil Chhetri kicked two goals including one goal from penalty shoot out.

Till first half, India was ahead by 1-0. Syed Rahim Nabi wearing jersi no 22 scored the first goal in the 25th minute.

Maldives was more attacking in the second half and in the 15th minute in the second half Maldives's striker Shamweel Qasim scored the sole goal for his country.

After that India didn't give chance to the opposition and scored two more goal.

The second goal for India was booted by Sunil Chhetri in 69th minute of the game.

Sunil again kicked his second goal in the extra time that was extended for two minutes.

He has been declared Man of the Match.
