Nankana Sahib, Nov 13 (ANI): The Sikh community in the Pakistani province of Punjab staged a demonstration against the ban on the use of fireworks on the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev.

The protest was launched against Nankana Sahib's District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Hassan Iqbal, who initially agreed to the use of fireworks, but minutes prior to the main celebrations prohibited the community from using them.

According to the Express Tribune, there was also a clash between members of the Sikh community and the police.

Pakistan Gurdwara Administration Committee representatives announced their resignation during a press conference in the aftermath of the protests, the report said.

Meanwhile, the Sikh pilgrims have now reached the most revered holy site Gurdwara Punja Sahib in Hassanabdal. (ANI)
