Srinagar, Wed, 26 Oct 2011 ANI

Srinagar, Oct 26 (ANI): Five civilians were injured in a grenade attack in a busy market place in Anantnag on Wednesday.

This attack comes a day after multiple terror strikes against security personnel in Jammu and Kashmir.

Four attacks - three grenade blasts and one pistol shooting - injured four people including one police constable and three paramilitary forces in Srinagar on Tuesday.

Militants targeted Anantnag and Shopian as they opened fire at a bus stand and targeted a police vehicle respectively.

Another attack took place in Zainpora area, where the militants hurled a grenade on a police vehicle.

The first grenade exploded near a CRPF bunker in Lal Chowk area here. The second attack took place at a police post in Batmaloo area of the city.

The attacks comes days after Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced plans to withdraw the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) and the Disturbed Areas Act (DAA) from some areas of the state. (ANI)
