Advani fears 'doom' for the country under Congress governance

Sambalpur, Mon, 24 Oct 2011 ANI

Sambalpur (Orissa), Oct 24 (ANI): Veteran Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader LK Advani has said the country will be doomed if the Congress is allowed to continue its 'ill-governance'.

Advani said India would not be able to face the world if corruption continues to grow.

"I think the country has not witnessed such a corrupt government as the ruling Congress party. I think if it continues this way, then it will derail the whole country. The current spate of scams has completely shaken us. The reputation of the country is under threat," he said.

"People across the globe respect us for our democracy, however if corruption continues to escalate, we would not be able to face the world. Through my tour, I intend to raise awareness amongst the masses for 40 days and urge people to abstain from corruption and work towards its removal," he added.

Describing the UPA Government as the most corrupt in independent India, Advani said: "Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister is mere a formality. Congress President Sonia Gandhi takes all decisions of the government."

Advani further said countries like the US, Canada and Australia have laws to protect whistleblowers who expose the corrupt. "But the UPA government has sent our MPs, who exposed cash-for-vote scam, to jail," he said. (ANI)
