Dravid retires with 118th place in ICC ODI rankings

Dubai, Mon, 19 Sep 2011 ANI

Dubai, Sep 19(ANI): Indian batsman Rahul Dravid has signed off on an illustrious ODI career in 118th position in International Cricket Council (ICC)'s Player Rankings after playing his first series in two years.

Dravid had scored 128 runs in the recently-concluded five-match series against England, which earned him three places in the batting chart.

The former captain's low ranking is largely due to the fact that he didn't play ODI cricket since India's victory over the West Indies in a league match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2009 in South Africa.

Dravid's 10,899 in 344 ODIs with 12 centuries and 83 half-centuries makes him the seventh highest run-getter in the history of ODI behind Sachin Tendulkar (18,111), Ricky Ponting (13,602), Sanath Jayasuriya (13,430), Inzamam-ul-Haq (11,739), Sourav Ganguly (11,363) and Jacques Kallis (11,227).

During his career, the 38-year-old reached a highest-ranking of fifth after the Edgbaston ODI against England in August 2007 when he scored 56 in India's 42-run victory.

He had achieved his highest rating of 749 in May 2006 after his match-winning 105 against the West Indies at Sabina Park. (ANI)
