New Delhi, Aug 18 (ANI): With the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) busy in preparing the ground for the veteran social activist's agitation, Anna Hazare is likely to move to the Ramlila Maidan here on Friday for his indefinite fast against corruption .

Hazare, who is still inside the Tihar Jail, will reach the Ramlila Maidan only after the ground is fully ready for the 15-day mass protest that has been sanctioned by the Delhi Police after intensive negotiations with Team Anna.

The Deputy Mayor of Delhi, Anil Sharma, earlier in the day said the MCD employees are making the Ramlila Ground ready as early as possible.

"The employees of MCD are putting their best effort to ensure the grounds are ready by 12 pm. It has been raining for the past three days so there is lot of water inside the ground and the land has become marshy," Sharma told mediapersons outside the Ramlila Maidan here.

"Although it's a huge ground, but I can assure you that by the evening hopefully we will be able to prepare it fully for Anna Hazare's scheduled fast," he added.

Meanwhile, team Anna has given a two-page undertaking to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central District, of Delhi Police, on its protest fast in Ramlila Maidan, saying they would abide by existing rules and regulations and the crowd will not exceed the capacity of the ground, which is around 25,000 people.

The undertaking, which has been signed by Hazare and his team of civil society activists, also said that if any clause of it was violated, they would be liable to be prosecuted under law.

According to reports, the clauses of the undertaking include: no damage to public property; gathering will not exceed the limit of the ground; the crowd will not spill over to the nearby roads; the protesters will cooperate with traffic police; use of loudspeaker within the ambit of a Supreme Court order (10 p.m. limit).

The other clauses of the undertaking are: arrangement of drinking water, medical aid, mobile toilets, proper lighting; no carrying of lathi or any weapon; no provocative slogans or speeches; no inflammatory slogans within 200 metres of religious or worship places; public safety will be taken care of and no use of crackers.

Moreover, it has been reported that the government doctors will conduct the medical examination of Hazare and his other supporters three times a day during the fast. Team Anna has also assured to abide by the April 16, 2009 order of the Supreme Court, which stipulated rules and regulations for public protests.

The standoff between Team Anna and the Delhi Police come to an end late on Wednesday night following hectic consultations between the two sides over the proposed fast site and the duration of the protest.

Delhi Police finally gave Team Anna the permission to fast for 15-days at Ramlila Maidan on Wednesday night after marathon discussions between the civil society activists and Delhi Police Commissioner BK Gupta.

Initially, the police were insisting on allowing only five days' of protest, which was turned down by the activists who asked for permission for one month.

Police had earlier denied permission to Hazare to hold his indefinite fast at Jayaprakash Narayan Park near Ferozeshah Kotla Ground after the 74-year-old social activist refused to give an undertaking that he would restrict his anti-corruption protest to three days and the number of protesters to 5,000.
