Special cinema expo commences in Chennai

Chennai, July 30 (ANI): The fifth edition of the Cinema Today expo began here on Friday with the objective to showcase new technology and traditional equipments that are used in filmmaking.

 

On display were some of the best video and still cameras, lighting equipment and other film equipments including camera cranes, tripods etc.

 

The exhibition looks to bring the fields of cinema, broadcast, media and entertainment under a single roof.

 

K. Tarun Kumar, an exhibitor from Anand Cine Service, said that the exhibition acts as a platform to showcase the best equipments used to shoot films and advertisements.

 

"It is our endeavour to show the latest film equipment that is used for shooting the feature films, regular movies, advertisements and documentaries. Whatever you want to shoot, we have the widest range of equipment available, both film cameras as well as the latest digital cameras," he added.

 

He said that the ongoing exhibition attracted cinema enthusiasts and students of film studies.

 

"Students from several film institutes come and see the latest equipment, get a hands on touch, feeling, where they will experience and operate the equipment, they know all the technicalities. They ask questions. And we also have seminars spread over two days where all the presenters, we have nine overseas visitors, who are going to present their equipments," he added.

 

Many new technologies were launched with special focus on digital revolution in filmmaking, 3D Stereoscopy, VFX, Definition, 3D Production, live professional sound and light demonstrations.

 

Apart from the display of the latest gadgets and gizmos, seminars were also held to engage in meaningful discussions so that they are able to comprehend global trends that are prevalent in the field.

 

The exhibition, which will conclude tomorrow, is expected to register a footfall of 15,000 industry and other visitors. (ANI)
