Hyderabad, July 30 (ANI): A three-day-long exhibition in Hyderabad showcased antique coins and currencies from different parts of the world.

Organised by Hyderabad Philatelic and Hobbies Society, the exhibition started from July 29 and would conclude on July 31.

Around 85 coins, currency and stamps dealers from all over the country participated in the exhibition.

While talking to the mediapersons, M Keshav Rao, who is an exhibitor from Guntur district of the state, said that he started collecting coins from different places as it was his hobby and now he owned world's rarest coins.

"I own the rarest coins. One coin weighs 0.034 milligram which is of Vijaynagar (dynasty during the reign of King) Harihara (second), the world's smallest gold coin and also I have displayed here (at the venue), world's biggest one kilogram gold coin and I hope that by the evening I might get a silver coin weighing 10 kilogram," said Rao.

The world's largest silver coin that weighs 10 Kilograms was from Australia. A very rare note of two and a half rupees, which was issued by the Indian government in the year 1918, was also displayed at the exhibition.

"We have travelled and participated in all over Indian exhibitions and we are actually based from Bombay (Mumbai) and we have travelled through all the states. We buy and sell these things (currency notes)," said Nikhil Parekh, an exhibitor from Mumbai.

After a gap of four years, the city's Philatelic society had organised the exhibition. The previous exhibitions were held in the year 2005 and 2007. (ANI)
