London, July 24(ANI): The mother of Indian-origin bride Anni Dewani, who was murdered during her honeymoon in Cape Town last year, says she is desperate to know her daughter's final words.
Nilam Hindocha said that trying to find out what really happened to her daughter had been 'torture'.
"I want to know what her last words were. It's her voice that I remember most dearly, the way she spoke. She had such a sweet voice, always happy. Not knowing what she said at the end is so awful as she always told me everything," the Daily Mail quoted Hindocha, as saying.
"We'd speak every day on the phone for hours. Now only Shrien can help us. I hope we will get answers. I talk to Anni all the time. I light a candle every day at home in Sweden. put it in front of a photograph of her and I kiss it and I tell her how much I love her," he added.
The 59-year-old further said that the family was 'broken' after learning that Anni had been killed.
"Your body starts experiencing pain in the same way as your mind does," Hindocha said.
"I want to ask Shrien some questions, but I can't. It's hard to face him. It's difficult to say how I feel when I look at him,' he added.
Anni was shot dead after gunmen hijacked her taxi while she was on her honeymoon with Shrien in Cape Town in November last year.
South African police claim that Shrien paid the men to kill Anni during the staged hijacking.
Shrien denies any wrongdoing. (ANI)
