Tax sleuths raid houses and offices of south Indian actors

Chennai, July 22 (ANI): Tax sleuths conducted raids on Friday at various offices and residences of the actors, Mammootty and Mohanlal in Chennai.

The raids were conducted when the officials discovered that the IT returns filed by the actors are not proportionate to their declared income.

The raids were conducted in the premises of their various offices and houses located in Kochi, Bangalore and Chennai.

Tax officials also raided the houses of several filmmakers and distributors of the southern region and seized many documents as evidence.

Mohanlal owns several business ventures that include Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, a film distribution company and Vismayas Max, a film post-production studio.

Mammootty owns the Playhouse Entertainments, which is a film distribution company. He is also the chairman of Malayalam TV channel, Kairali TV. (ANI)
