Chennai, July 22 (ANI): The Income Tax department on Friday raided multiple offices and residences of South Indian superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal.
The raids are being conducted on a tip off that the IT returns filed by the superstars were not proportionate to their income.
The raids were conducted at premises in Kochi, Bengaluru and Chennai.
Tax sleuths also raided the houses of several Kannada film makers and distributors and seized many documents.
Mohanlal has several business ventures including Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, a film distribution company and Vismayas Max, a film post-production studio.
Mammootty owns Playhouse Entertainments, a film distribution company. He is also the chairman of Malayalam TV channel Kairali TV. (ANI)
