Johnny Depp sought for 'Carter Beats the Devil' adaptation

Washington, June 29 (ANI): Johnny Depp is apparently being pursued for the lead role in Warner Bros adaptation of the 2002 novel 'Carter Beats the Devil'.

 

The studio wants the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star to play the part of illusionist Charles Carter in the adaptation of Glen David Gold's novel, reports Contact Music.

 

According to the Los Angeles Times, the studio is also looking for directors and has put the word out to three large Hollywood agencies.

 

Depp, 48, has a number of films coming up for release in the next two years - he is currently filming roles in both '21 Jump Street' and 'Dark Shadows' and he will appear as Tonto in 'The Lone Ranger' in 2012. (ANI)
