Puttaparthi (AP), June 28 (ANI): Sri Satya Sai Central Trust (SSSCT) member V Srinivasan on Tuesday clarified the financial flow of the funds saying the Rs 35 lakh seized by police was given by devotees and handed over to a consultancy to build a memorial for Sai Baba.

Addressing a press conference here, Srinivasan claimed that the Sathya Sai Trust has got nothing to do with the Rs 35 lakh seized by the police.

"A group of people offered Rs 35 lakh to Ratnakar Raju and the money was handed over to a consultant. The car of the project consultant was stopped and the money was seized. he consultant has given a detailed explanation and asked the police to release money. The trust has nothing to do with this money," he added.

He said the trust has already paid Rs 9.75 crore as income tax without any demand by the concerned authorities and decided to pay necessary tax on all its inventories.

The Sai Trust has been under the scanner since Sai Baba breathed his last. First Rs 11 crore cash and close to 100 kgs of gold was recovered when the trust opened Sai Baba's personal chamber and then Rs 35 lakh was seized from a car at the Andhra-Karnataka border. (ANI)
