London, June 18 (ANI): Producers of the new Jeff Buckley biopic have confirmed that 'Twilight' star Robert Pattinson still has a strong chance of bagging the lead role in the untitled musical tragedy.
The filmmakers have also denied rumours that the role has already been given to 'Gossip Girl' star Penn Badgley.
"Penn is not involved in the film at all. It's crazy how these stories get out... (The producers) are all very unified in our search to find the perfect person to play Jeff... When you have a story about an individual like Jeff you get a lot of interest because his life was so impactful and so short. We're being very careful about it as we move forward. It takes a while to perfect this type of film. You've got to do it for the right reasons," the Daily Express quoted Orian Williams, co-producer of the movie as telling the Los Angeles Times.
He confirmed that movie bosses have staged preliminary meetings with Pattinson, but the casting process will not begin until October. (ANI)
