Cloudburst at Doda, three dead

Doda, June 9 (ANI): At least three people were killed and dozens feared missing after a cloudburst swept away a large portion of Batote-Kishtwar Highway in Baggar area, about 140 km northeast of Jammu.

A large portion of the highway, several roadside shops and vehicles were swept away due to the cloudburst.

"The area has become inaccessible and it is very difficult to give an assessment of the loss at this time," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Doda) Farooq Khan.

Meanwhile, heavy rains continued to lash the area and around 20-Kilometer stretch of road from Batote to Assar has been blocked at many places due to landslides. (ANI)
