Beijing, June 8 (ANI): China will build a new skyscraper every five days for the next three years as it continues to embark on the biggest building boom in history, according a report.
The 2011 China Skyscraper City List compiled by "Motian City", a Chinese website for skyscraper enthusiasts, shows that China and Taiwan currently boast five of the world top 10 tallest buildings in Taipei at No. 2, Shanghai at No. 3, Hong Kong at No. 4, Nanjing at No. 7 and Guangzhou at No. 9.
Presently, Dubai's 2,716 feet-tall Burj Khalifa is the world's tallest building.
According to the study, by 2015 China will claim the No.2 and No.3 spots with its Shanghai Tower, at 2,073 feet, and the 1,988 feet Greenland Center in Wuhan, The Telegraph reports.
Currently China has over 200 skyscrapers under construction, which is equivalent to the total number of skyscrapers in the US.
In five years time, China will have 800 skyscrapers, according to the research. (ANI)
