Ajmer, June 7 (ANI): The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, offered 'chaadar' at the dargah of sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti here today on the occasion of the 799th annual Urs.
Dr. Singh in his message said the great saint's teachings of service to the poor, compassion and love remain relevant even today.
Describing the event, as a chance for spiritual renewal for all followers of the sufi saint from across the globe, Dr. Singh said that representing the commonalities of all religions, the Urs unites people of diverse faiths and builds bridges of friendship and understanding among them.
Minister of State at the Prime Minister's Office, V Narayanasamy, offered the 'chaadar' on behalf of Dr. Singh. (ANI)
