FBI withdraws 25 million dollars bounty on Osama

Melbourne , Tue, 03 May 2011 ANI

Melbourne, May 3 (ANI): THE FBI's Most Wanted Terror list has declared Osama bin Laden dead and withdrawn the 25 million dollars reward that was on his head.

The FBI site, which calls him "Usama" Bin Laden, had a red "deceased" brand stamped under his headshot.

The US State Department's "Rewards for Justice" program - which offers the same 5 million dollars as the FBI - also declared bin Laden dead, The Herald Sun reports.

It said he was wanted for the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon; and the 1998 bombings of the United States Embassies in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi.

The Saudi-born terrorist, who had evaded capture for a decade, was killed in a top secret operation involving a small team of US Special Forces in Abbottabad city, located 50 kilometres northeast of Islamabad and 150 kilometres east of Peshawar. (ANI)
