Basti (Uttar Pradesh), Mar.25 (ANI): As air strikes increase in strife-torn Libya, the families of Indian nationals stranded in the country fear for their safety.
Asian News International interacted with fthe family and friends of Tauheed Khan of Basti, Uttar Padesh. His relatives have slammed the air strikes by the Allied forces in Libya and termed them as illegal.
Anwar Bagdadi, Khan's teacher, said: " The bombing on Libya is illegal. We condemn it totally as it is killing people. Various Indians including our family members are stranded there and their lives are in danger."
Khan's brother Jamal said: " My brother went to Libya to study. The region is under extreme violence and my family members are tensed. We want him to come back safely."
The United States and its allies began the UN mandated offensive against Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi to protect protesting civilians from being killed.
The UN Security Council resolution backing a no-fly zone, over Libya, led to airstrikes by the allied powers in which many people have been reported killed.
Russia, China, India and Brazil are among the five countries that have criticized the attacks and abstained for voting on the UN resolution. (ANI)
