41 persons killed in two Himachal road accidents

Chamba (HP), Mar 3 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Police on Thursday confirmed that around forty-one people, including 32 members of a marriage party, were killed and seven others were injured in two separate accidents in the state's Chamba District.

 

Around 32 persons were killed, when a canter in which they were travelling fell into a deep gorge near Shekhpur late on Wednesday night.

 

The tanker was carrying a marriage party from Chaura to Shekhpur. Thirty persons lost their lives on the spot, while two others succumbed later.

 

Five injured persons have been admitted to the RP Government Medical College, Tanda in Kangra District, while a sixth injured has been admitted to a Pathankot Hospital.

 

In the second accident, nine persons were killed, when a pick-up van rolled into a ditch near Bharmaur, around 65 kilometers from Chamba on Wednesday night.

 

The dead were employees of a same company and were returning home after completing their night shifts. (ANI)
