In a bid to repeat the mega success of the performances in the Lok Sabha Polls in 2014, BJP has started its campaign in the Uttar Pradesh assembly election which is all set to be held in coming year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the party’s Uttar Pradesh assembly election campaign from Allahabad. As usual m PM focuses on development as the central theme and hinted that it will be the core issue for the party in the coming election .
PM has made it clear the promising jobs to the youth, infrastructure and an end to law and order problems will be the core of the party among the people of the state. During his speech on the launching of the meeting, Modi asked people to use the 2017 assembly election as an opportunity to end lawlessness, religious and caste divides, and the rule of family-run political parties.
PM said that people of the state are in trouble due to lawlessness, casteism and religious divide. He urged the people that now the time has come to end these evils from the life of the people of the state.
Modi further said that there is a wind of change in Uttar Pradesh. Youth wants to work for change in the state. The time has come to end corruption and lawlessness in the state. We have to take the story of development forward and it can happen only if the people of Uttar Pradesh give their blessings to me,” Modi said.
Urging people to vote for the BJP during the assembly election, Modi told them that if the party failed to perform, they were free to kick it out of power.
It is noted that the last BJP chief minister of Uttar Pradesh was Rajnath Singh—the current Union home minister—who ruled from 2000 to 2002. Since then, the party has not been able to play a decisive role in the state’s politics.
The party’s fortunes changed in the 2014 general election, when the BJP-led alliance won 73 out of the 80 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
Modi discussed about the achievements of the NDA government on the completion of two years in power, Modi said that his government had provided insurance for farmers and life insurance cover for a mere Rs.12 a year.
Modi further discussed about the state situation and said that there are 1,529 villages in Uttar Pradesh which didn’t have power connectivity. The NDA government has provided power in 1,352 villages, and in less than 100 days, all 18,000 villages will be electrified. all over the country.
