SDMC has said that it will take stern action against those who will fail in clearing the property tax till the specified date. SDMC has issued notice against the 29 properties in Najafgarh and South Zone. Many big schools and educational institutional of Dwarka have been identified for non depositing of property tax. According to South Delhi Municipal Corporation sources, it has issued Notice to 29 properties in Najafgarh and South zone. In Najafgarh zone 26 and in South zone 3 properties are identified are not depositing property tax.
A preliminary scrutiny was done by Assessment & Collection Deptt. and it was found that the owners of these properties have either not deposited the Property Tax or have deposited incorrect Property Tax. As a result, notices have been issued and further action is being initiated under the provisions of law.
As per the provisions of section 155 &156 of DMC Act, 1957, if the payment is not done within three days of receipt of this notice, failing which necessary action as above will be taken in this regard and the amount will be recovered by way of attachment and sale of moveable & immoveable properties etc.
Assessor & Collector of SDMC, Mr. B.N. Singh informed that the property tax offices will remain open on 22nd, 23th, 29th & 30thJune from 9am to 5.30pm to facilitate property tax.
