Bollywood's Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan celebrated his 25-year- long journey in Indian cinema as a film star in Mumbai on Monday which coincided with 100 years of Indian cinema.

I am extremely happy to have been a part of the Indian film industry for so many years. Our film industry is celebrating its 100 years and I am lucky to have completed 25 years in it. I am thankful to my writers and directors and all those who have worked with me. Everyone has greatly influenced and helped me in my 25-year long career span, Said the actor during the occasion.

Aamir Khan during the occasion also revealed that he elected only those films whose script touched his heart despite of a big banner or money being offered to him for the film.

This is one of the reasons I do less films. My non-compromising attitude on quality has been with me since I did my first film, he said.

Aamir got the status of acelebrity from his very first film 'Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak', which was a big hit 25 years back and the stardom still continues.

He was also featured on Time magazine's list of most influential people in the world this month along with U.S. President Barack Obama, newly installed Pope Francis, British royal Kate Middleton, Beyonce, Braun and basketball player LeBron James.

Aamir Khan has been always known for speaking about social issues openly. In 2011, Aamir was also seen sharing stage with anti-corruption campaigner, Anna Hazare, who has pressured the government over a series of scandals.

In addition to that, the actor also hosted and produced a television show, 'Satyamev Jayate', a show with 13 episodes based on creating awareness about social issues, seen as India's answer to Oprah Winfrey.
