Kamal Hassan's Vishwaroopam has entered into the Rs 100 crore club. According to Rahul Bose, who plays the main antagonist in the film, the film has earned Rs 120 crores worldwide.
Rahul Bose tweeted "Vishwaroopam`s the first film I`ve been a part of that`s made over 100 crores. Congratulatuions to the team and mr haasan especially!"
"Just received figures of the all India box office collections of Vishwaroopam. 120 crores and counting. Superb!"
Vishwaroopam was released worldwide on 25th January 2013 (except Tamil Nadu). Hindi version of the film was released on 1st February 2013.
Film released in Tamil Nadu to packed houses on 7 February 2013.
Though there were talks before by Kamal Haasan that the film will release on DTH, it didn't.
Happy with the success of the film, Kamal Haasan organized a party, which was attended by Nagarjuna and other South Indian actors.
Kamal has also announced a sequel to the film, Vishwaroopam 2, which may release at the end of the year.
The film went into controversy after certain Muslim groups slammed it for its alleged offensive content but the problem was resolved later.
Vishwaroopam stars Kamal Haasan, Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose, Andrea Jeremiah and Shekhar Kapur.
