Indian actress, VJ and Cadbury Girl Sophiya Haque dies of Pneumonia in London

Indian actress and Video Jockey at MTV channel, Sophiya Haque has died in London at the age of 41. She was suffering from pneumonia and developed a clot on her lungs.

Oliver Thompson, her agent confirmed her death. Haque was diagnosed with cancer before Christmas.

She was working with West End production of Privates on Parade and was portraying the role of Sylvia Morgan, a Welsh-Indian singer and dancer.

Sophia also did a Cadbury commercial where she comes dancing celebrating the victory of her lover.

Bollywood celebrities took to social networking site Twitter to express their grief on the death of Sophia.

Pooja Bhatt tweeted, "Tragic news about Sophiya Haque. One of the most gorgeous women to have walked this planet... Shine on where-ever it is you now are luv"...(sic)

Lisa Ray tweeted, "RIP Sophia Haque, my beautiful, vivacious old friend". (sic)

R Madhavan tweeted, "RIP..Sophiya Haque, 1 of early VJ's in MTV, Cadbury model.Cannot forget her in "September Madathil in Alaipayuthe.Shocked and Saddened".(sic)

Kabir Bedi tweeted, "Saddened by the passing of Sophiya Haque, friend & talented actress, who I acted with in "Far Pavilions", London West End". (sic)

Ayushmann Khurrana tweeted, "RIP Sophiya Haque. Somebody said, VJs are born. Actors are made."

Farhan Akhtar tweeted, "Shocked to hear about the death of Sophiya Haque. RIP. Deepest condolences to her family".

Dia Mirza tweeted, "RIP Sophiya Haque... I'll never forget you dancing with abandon onto the cricket field in the cadbury commercial... "

Sophiya was born on 14 June 1971. She was a famous VJ of MTV and Channel V and worked in few Bollywood movies like Khoobsurat, Har Dil Jo Pyra Karega, The Rising: Ballad of Mangal Pandey and Wanted.
