Dharamsala, April 26 (ANI): Exiled Tibetans released a documentary film here, hailing the contribution of 10th Panchen Lama, Lobsang Lhundrup Choekyi Gyaltsen.
An exiled non-government organization held a function on the occasion of the birthday of 11th Panchen Lama, Gedhun Choekyi Nyima.
The Panchen Lama, the second highest ranking Lama in the Tibetan Buddhist hierarchy, is being kept under secret detention by the Chinese. This is the 18th year of his disappearance.
The 10th Panchen Lama passed away mysteriously in 1989.
The objective of the film was to make the younger generation aware about the contributions made by the 10th Panchen Lama for the cause of Tibet.
"It shows the contributions that he made to the Tibetan cause. So, today we celebrate the 11th Panchen Lama's birth anniversary and this is to commemorate the same," said Gelek Jamyang, the president of the social organization. (ANI)
