The bright future of F1 racing in India

New Delhi, Fri, 14 Sep 2012 NI Wire

The emergence of Formula racing players like Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok has brightened the name of India and cemented the path of Formula Racing in South Asia, where Cricket, hockey and Chess were dominating games in India. Formula Racing game was earlier assessed as a game of rich countries where players are rich and infrastructures were strong.

But, now, the emerging talents like Karthikeyan and Chandhok have indicated that India can also establish places in world’s premium single seat sports car event, known as Formula 1. There are two annual world championship organized in the event, which are dedicated for the drivers and other for constructors.

Formula One, officially known as Formula One World Championship is the world’s highest class of single-seater auto racing sports event approved by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The F1 season consists of a series of races, known as Grands Prix that is originally derived from French, which means grand prizes, held on purpose-built circuits and public roads. The results of each race are combined with a points system to determine two annual World Championships, one for the drivers and one for the constructors.

India hosted first Indian Formula Grand Prix on 30th October 2011 at Buddh International Circuit Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh which was won by German star Sebastian Vettel.

Earlier, India had only two permanent raceways - one in Chennai (Irungattukottai), and another in Coimbatore (Kari Memorial Speedway).

Narain Karthikeyan is not a new name for the event who has made own position in the world of F1 racing in the world. Narain who has been known as the ‘the fastest Indian in the World’ is not bound to his identity for any Indian.

Karun Chandhok is another Indian racer who won GP2 series twice and fastest emerging star in Formula One Grand Prix race.

Industrialist and Rajya Sabha member Vijay Mallya has contributed enough in rooting and pacing the F1 race in India. In fact he has changed the fortunes of F1 racing in India by his spirits.

The newly made Jaypee International Circuit situated in Greater Noida in India had shown a good hope to the F1 in India where Indian Force India Formula 1 team Narain Karthikeyan and Karun were proved their talent to enchant youth towards the new type of sports.

The other significant Indian team also took part in the event, which is the good indication for the future of the sports in the country where Cricket and other games have rooted deeply in the mindset of the people.

The successful F1 racing event, organized in the Jaypee circuit at Greater Noida in India enchanted the entire world however the local media and other experts criticized the same. Needless to say it was nothing but the wrong mindset of them towards the adventures sports. Any successful event has to face lot of criticism too and it has nothing to do with its success as it has attracted to the entire nation and especially the youth. It has helped to provide a way for the new talents on the new and adventures horizon of the F1 racing.
