Delhi has strengthened their top position more by adding fourth consecutive win to their belt. Yesterday in a match played against Rajasthan Royals Delhi marked a 6-wicket win all thanks to glittering performance by Virender Shewag. He made 73 runs in just 38 balls in which he hit 12 fours and 1 six.
Batting first Rajasthan made a solid start with Rahul Dravid and Ajinkya Rahane. Rahul made 57 runs and Rahane added 42 runs in their opening partnership of 71 runs. But other then name none could contribute much, even Watson who made much hype with this being his IPL 5 debut, couldn't add more then 8 runs. Negi of Delhi took 4 Rajasthan wickets in his 4 overs spell. Rajasthan could only give a target of 141, which looked small in front of Delhi's batting line-up.
Delhi on the other hand lost Jayawardene in the very first over but this match was all about Shewag who blasted every bowler to the boundary and reached his fifth fifty in this year's IPL. Daredevils easily reached the target in the 16th over with the loss of 4 wickets.
Negi was given the man of the match for his performance.
In the 43rd match of IPL played in Sawai Mansingh stadium Delhi Daredevils thumped a 6 wickets win over Rajasthan Royals.
