IPL 2012 is all set for a glittering start. To add sparkle to the starry night of opening ceremony of IPL 5 big megastar of Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan and American pop star Katy Perry will land at ground of YMCA College of Physical Education. All the efforts to make this gala ceremony special have been made. Entire endeavor has been made to keep the audience spellbound on opening ceremony on Tuesday. Performer from the Bollywood will make viewers glued to the ceremony. On this occasion Amitabh Bachchan will render a poem written by Prasoon Joshi. To add some excitement, there will be performances by American pop icon Katy Perry, Indian dancing sensation Prabhu Deva, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan and several others.

The first match of IPL season five Twenty20 cricket will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians on April 4. This nearly two month long cricket extravaganza will be full of fun and excitement and entertainment and glamor.

Besides entertainment and glamor, the opening ceremony of Indian Premier League season five will also see all the nine team captains taking the MCC Spirit of Cricket pledge. Besides cricket enthusiast the ceremony will also be worth watching for those who have a taste for dance and music as singer and actress Katy Perry is going to make the ambience electric with her stellar performance. India's dancing sensation Prabhudeva will also be there with all his dancing skills. The ticket prices for this star studded night starts at Rs 1500.

In the IPL season five 76 matches will be played at 12 venues in the different parts of the country. The final is scheduled for May 27.

So get ready for this cricket carnival called IPL that is a heady concoction of sports, entertainment and glamor.
