55-60pc polling in trifurcated Delhi civic body

As much as 55-60 polling has been exercised in trifurcated Delhi civic body –East, South and North, as per preliminary sources said. However, the exact figure is likely to come later.

According to unconfirmed news sources, 55-60% Delhities out of 1.15-crore electorate have exercised today to select the 272 seats of trifurcated Delhi Civic body.

For 272 seats, there were 2,434 candidates were in fray. For exercising the poll, 11,543 polling stations have been set up and 77,000 officials have been deployed.

To conduct smooth polling in Delhi, the administration has done a tight security arrangement; around 83,000 policemen vigiled the entire process.

The polling ends at 5 p.m. and no news of agitation has come so far, Delhi Election Commission sources informed.
