Saif detains for allegedly assaulting a man

Renowned Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan on Wednesday has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a man last night when he was in a restaurant with his friends including girl friend Kareena Kapoor.

According to media reports, Iqbal Sharma (44) was taking a dinner in Hotel Taj's restaurant with his family where Saif Ali Khan too was present with his friends as well as girl friend and Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor.

The scuffle occurred when Iqbal asked Saif to lower his voice. Saif in this response, reportedly argued with Iqbal and suggested him to go the library for seeking silence.

The matter embroiled and Saif allegedly hit a punch on Iqbal's nose which resultant fracture in Iqbal's nose.

Iqbal lodged a complaint against him and his friends in Colaba police station. The Police registered the complaint under Indian Penal Code (IPC) 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).

According to legal experts, it is a case of trivial hurt and a bailable offence.

The report says that the police is conducting the investigation and statement of independent witnesses are being recorded.
