Washington, August 25 (ANI): A newly married woman drowned in Quebec river while having her wedding photos taken, as her gown got too heavy after getting soaked in the water, making it impossible for her to lift.
Ronald McGinnis, spokesman for the Quebec provincial police, revealed that the 30-year-old woman was standing in about 15 to 30 centimetres of water as the photographer clicked her, CBS News reported.
McGinnis claimed that her dress got heavy from soaking up water. And although, the woman asked for help getting out of the river, the photographer and his assistant were unable to lift her out. That's when she was swept away by harsh currents and taken under water.
The police was finally able to find her body nearly four hours after the incident, at around 6 p.m. ET. A local diver found her in a deep-water basin.
The woman, from the city of Laval north of Montreal, had got married on June 9 but had wanted more photos of herself in her wedding dress at the river. (ANI)
