Wills-Kat balcony kiss voted top TV moment

London, May 3 (ANI): Prince William's balcony kiss with his newly wedded bride Kate Middleton on their wedding day has been crowned Britain's most uplifting TV moment of the last decade.

The historic smooch narrowly beat Jonny Wilkinson's Rugby World Cup-winning drop-goal in 2003 to the top spot, the Daily Express reported.

Third place went to a scene in 'Only Fools and Horses' in 2002 when Del Boy and Rodney brought an illegal immigrant home.

Jordan and Peter Andre's romance in 'I'm A Celebrity' in 2004 was fourth and Susan Boyle's first appearance on 'Britain's Got Talent' in 2009 came seventh.

Another kiss made the top 10, this time between Tim Canterbury (Martin Freeman) and Dawn Tinsley (Lucy Davis) in the final episode of 'The Office'. The romantic moment was in ninth place.

The survey, conducted to mark 10 years of Freeview, found 'Britain's Got Talent' is the UK's favourite programme, beating 'Doctor Who'. 'Emmerdale' topped the list of soaps finishing ahead of 'Coronation Street' and 'EastEnders'.

The poll found major events like royal weddings still get people in front of their television sets and that almost one in three people prefer live broadcasts to pre-recorded shows. (ANI)
