Washington, Apr 30 (ANI): Marvel's epic superhero super-group flick 'The Avengers Assemble' recorded the third highest opening of all time in the UK on Thursday, according to The Nme.
The comic book adventure raked in a massive 2.5 million pounds on its opening day alone and is set to continue its remarkable run as it has been draped in esteem from critics and audience alike.
The only films above the latest Marvel romp in terms of opening day takings are Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix and the largest being Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith, Contactmusic reported.
The Joss Whedon- directed movie has already broken launch day records in New Zealand and Taiwan and is expected to perform just as well when it is released in North America on May 4th where it will be simply titled 'The Avengers.'
The Marvel Comics movie features Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner And Samuel L Jackson as the eponymous Avengers. (ANI)
