New Orleans, Apr 30 (ANI): Ace golfer Jason Dufner has beaten Ernie Els in a sudden death play-off to win the PGA Tour, while Luke Donald regained his no. 1 spot in the world rankings.

"It's been tough trying to get this first win, so this is a little bit of a monkey off my back. It was a tough day, I'd already put up a good number," the Daily Mail quoted Dufner, as saying.

Donald secured pole position from Rory McIlroy by finishing a third in the top seven.

However, the winner of the tournament was American Dufner, 35, who edged out Els on the second hole of the play-off to win his first PGA title.

Dufner had not won in his previous 163 starts at the U.S. PGA Tour.(ANI)
