No fears from Barcelona, Alonso tells Chelsea

London, Mon, 23 Apr 2012 ANI

London, Apr 23 (ANI): Real Madrid star Xabi Alonso has assured Chelsea that they longer need to fear Lionel Messi and his club Barcelona.

The Spanish club F C Barcelon, were left stunned after they were beaten by Alonso and his Real Madrid team-mates by 2-1 in the Nou Camp on Saturday.

Chelsea are set to face Barcelona in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final, tomorrow night.

Ex-Liverpool midfield Alonso claimed that Barca's defeat at Stamford Bridge, who are their greatest rivals, showed they were vulnerable.

"We know that over the last few years, Barcelona have been so successful, that they have been playing great, wonderful football. But they are not unbeatable," the Daily Mirror quoted Alonso, as saying.

Chelsea, who won the first leg in the league with a goal from Didier Drogba, were seen being bucked up by the Spain playmaker Alonso, as they would be playing the European champions just when fatigue is catching up with them. (ANI)
