Mumbai, Thu, 19 Apr 2012 ANI

Mumbai, Apr 19 (ANI): Two persons died and at least 15 were injured after falling from a moving train in here on Thursday.

Refusing to take responsibility, the Central Railways said the incident occurred when some passengers, traveling in an overcrowded train got struck by a signal pole and fell off the moving train.

The incident took place between the Bhandup and Nahur suburban railway stations.

The injured have been admitted to various public hospitals where they are undergoing treatment.

On Wednesday, a massive fire in a signal panel of the Central Railway track disrupted local train services in Mumbai, leaving hundreds of passengers stranded on platforms.

The railways said that it would take them around three to four days to fix the problem. (ANI)
