Imran takes dig at Bilawal's 'barely speakable' Urdu

Karachi, Mon, 09 Apr 2012 ANI

Karachi, Apr 9(ANI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has slammed Bilawal's appointment as the Pakistan People's Party's (PPP) chairman, saying that he is not aware of the challenges confronting the country and can't even speak Urdu properly.

Imran pointed out that the PTI is categorically different from other mainstream political parties like the Pakistan People's Party, where party chiefs are family members.

"In PPP, Zardari brought forward a piece of paper [will] and claimed that his late wife Benazir Bhutto chose him as her successor. Hence he became the party leader," The Express Tribune quoted Imran, as saying.

Criticizing the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Imran said to become a party leader in the Nawaz-league, one needed to have "Sharif" as its surname.

Referring to PTI's recently- introduced method of electing party leaders, Imran said the PTI will give an opportunity to its members to choose their own leaders, who will then represent them once in power.

"This will give a chance to young people to become leaders," Imran added.

He added that the PTI members could also elect leaders to the highest party position, including the one currently held by himself. (ANI)
