Pak leaders slam US bounty on Saeed's head as interference in nation's internal affairs

Peshawar , Sun, 08 Apr 2012 ANI

Peshawar, Apr 8(ANI): Leaders of different political parties and Ulema have described a US decision of declaring a 10 million dollar bounty on Jamaat-ud Dawa(JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed's head as an interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan.

Addressing a news conference at the Peshawar Press Club, they slammed the US move as a nefarious attempt to undermine the ongoing movement of the JuD- backed Pakistan Defence Council (PDC), The News reports.

They also blamed Indian pressure as being responsible for the move and added that it aimed to put pressure on Pakistan to re-open the NATO supply route that had been shut after the deadly November 26 raid.

They also pointed out that the US announcement comes in the wake of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security (PCNS) discussing the recommendations for the re-opening NATO supply routes.

They added India has implicated Saeed in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, and has been putting pressure on Pakistan to arrest him, but it could not succeed until now. (ANI)
