Santorum to ramp up prez campaign in Pennsylvania amid rumours of dropping out of race

Washington, Sun, 08 Apr 2012 ANI

Washington, Apr 8(ANI): Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has announced he will be criss-crossing his home state of Pennsylvania next week.

Santorum released a full slate of upcoming campaign events in his home state to silence rowing speculations that he is considering abandoning his White House bid, the New York Daily News reports.

The news comes in the wake of rumors that he was considering dropping out of the race to avert a potentially humiliating defeat in the Keystone State and to care for his sick daughter.

Santorum's youngest child, Bella, 3, who suffers from genetic disorder Trisomy 18, was admitted to the hospital.

Santorum's campaign did not release details about the latest incident, except informing to note that the ex-Pennsylvania senator and his wife were at their daughter's bedside.

But Santorum will ramp his campaign and make scheduled stops across Pennsylvania, including Bedford, Lancaster and Greensburg before attending the National Rifle Association's annual conference in Missouri.

He had earlier stressed that he is not dropping out of the race despite pressure from the GOP establishment for the party to unite behind frontrunner Mitt Romney. (ANI)
