Autopsy report says MoD official died of suffocation caused from burns

New Delhi , Tue, 03 Apr 2012 ANI

New Delhi, Apr.3 (ANI): Delhi Police have received an autopsy report which states that former defence ministry official Kumar Yashkar Sinha died of suffocation caused by burns to his body.

The autopsy report does not mention any external or internal injuries.

Police are now probing whether Yashkar was facing financial problems other than work-related pressures.

Yashkar and his wife Archana Sharma were found dead under mysterious circumstances in their house last Friday.

The post-mortem report of his wife confirmed that she was strangled to death. Yashkar's body was found charred.

Police have sent the diary recovered from Yashkar's South Delhi residence for examination to ascertain its timing.

In the diary, allegedly written by Yashkar, he has blamed two senior Army officers for driving him to despair by putting pressure on him at work.

Although three to four defence ministry officials have been questioned, officials investigating the case said Yashkar wasn't handling any confidential assignment.

Yashkar was Deputy Director in the Directorate General of Medical Services.

A case of murder has been registered against deceased Sinha on grounds that he probably strangled his wife before committing suicide. (ANI)
