Google News, Romney get pranked on April Fool's Day

Washington, Mon, 02 Apr 2012 ANI

Washington, Apr 2(ANI): Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and Google News were pranked on April Fool's Day.

Forbes magazine put an article titled "Romney Drops Out of Race, Endorses Santorum" on Google News, which the latter failed to detect as a prank.

The blog-site Gawker, subsequently, captured a screen-grab of Google's mishap before the article disappeared.

Meanwhile, Romney was also pranked by his staff yesterday, The New York Daily News reports.

He was scheduled to speak at a Milwaukee restaurant on Sunday, but his staff warned him, "We didn't get much of a turnout this morning"

Romney appeared before an empty room after being introduced by Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan.

The audience, however, was in a separate room waiting to hear from Romney, who is likely to win the Wisconsin primary on Tuesday.

"This is a morning I'm not going to forget anytime soon. They turned me into the April fool this morning," Romney said. (ANI)
