FIA declares ex-media advisor to Pak PM Rasool guilty of fraud in Hajj scam

Islamabad, Mar 25 (ANI): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has declared former media advisor to the prime minister, Khurram Rasool, guilty of making money of people on the false pretext of sending them for Hajj.

Rasool is also currently involved in another fraud case with the FIA Karachi, The Express Tribune reports.

In an interim investigation report, the FIA stated that the accused obtained approximately one million rupees from nine different people saying a special plan was being chartered for Hajj on the directions of the premier.

Rasool has been accused of depriving Agha Mujeeb Ahmed and his family members of 945, 000 rupees and confiscating their passports. The accused was allegedly helped by Shahzab and Muhammad Fiaz.

The investigators said in their report that Shahid Mehmood, Rasool's brother, handed over the nine passports and 200, 000 rupees. The rest of the money is yet to be recovered.ub Inspector Mazhar Ali Shah of the FIA further said that the two alleged accomplices of Rasool will be arrested soon. (ANI)
