Yasin Malik doubts 'mentally sick' Ijaz's credibility in Memo Gate scandal

Islamabad, Tue, 27 Mar 2012 ANI

Islamabad, Mar 27 (ANI): Jammu-Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman Yasin Malik has described Mansoor Ijaz a 'mentally sick' man, whose credibility in the Memo Gate scandal is doubtful.

The judicial commission investigating the memo scandal allowed Malik to give his response on Ijaz' claim that he had arranged a meeting between Malik and then chief of Indian intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) at the behest of US Government.

The chairman of three-member high-powered commission, Qazi Faez Isa appreciated Malik for appearing before the commission, and described him as a 'brave man'.

"You are a brave man; we know, you have threats to your life, but still your efforts to expose reality by putting your life in danger is appreciative," The News quoted Qazi, as saying.

Malik said he met Ijaz at a conference where he (Ijaz) appeared as a guest of former US President Bill Clinton.

Giving insight to Mansoor's character and personality, he said, "Mansoor Ijaz spoke against the Muslims, especially the Kashmiris during his speech. I could not bear this insult and hurled my shoe at him first and then snatched Mic from his hands, finally making him silent."

Calling Ijaz mad, Malik said: "Mansoor Ijaz's allegations were nothing but a pack of lies."

Malik, however, admitted that he had met Ijaz, but said the allegations levelled against him were all false. (ANI)
