Footie fan who streaked on pitch for 100 pound bet listed as sex offender

London, Mar 22 (ANI): A football fan has been listed in the Sex Offenders Register for running naked across the pitch during a televised Premiership match for a 100-pound bet.

Unemployed Sam Gorman's genitals were clearly on show as he dashed out in front of thousands during the Aston Villa home game against Manchester City, the Daily Mail reported.

But magistrates took a dim view of his antics, ordering the 22-year-old to sign the Sex Offenders Register for two years after he admitted indecent exposure.

Gorman, of Droitwich, Worcester, was also sentenced to an 18-month community order and told to pay 145 pounds for the February 12 streak.

"He thought of the money and not of the consequences of his actions," Mumtaz Mirza, mitigating, told Birmingham magistrates.

"He accepts it was a foolish act. It was complete stupidity and he is ashamed.

"He has let his family down," she said.

But an unabashed Gorman, a West Bromwich Albion fan, boasted of another time he shed his clothes during a sporting event.

"I've also done it at a cricket match in Droitwich, when I jumped on the umpire's back.

"I'm actually a Baggies fan and this was the first time I had been to a football match. I went for the day out.

"My mate wanted me to do the streak earlier, but I wanted to see a bit of the game," he added. (ANI)
